Around the world

Cosas Minimas

Hello, my name is Moselle

"Style is the mind skating circles around itself as it moves forward" -Robert Frost

The man behind the desk asked her a simple question and yet her mind raced and stumbled and she wondered where to begin.

"Yes,and what is your personal sense of style Miss?"

"Well, I...I am, I mean I like, which is to say, I gravitate towards things, or rather, items, that say, well not "say" in a literal way but in a figurative way, that say well...this."

And she laid her well loved album gingerly on the desk and turned it to face the man.

"Miss Moselle?" he asked bewildered by this strange answer to his stock question.

"This is me, well notme, but everything I love. Photos and things I've collected over the years..." Her voice trailed off.

The man looked down at the album and tentatively opened the first page to a new world.

Don't fence me in

Imagine a fence. It stands there, waiting. Keeping. Guarding.

To me, the fence says, come look beyond me!

So I look beyond, and see dreams. Adventures, lessons, opportunity; perhaps some disappointment.

As children, we are taught to respect boundaries, not be pushy, stay within the safe zone. I see myself telling my children these very things. Climb down from the fence! I hear myself saying.  Or the more frequent, Be careful, you don't want to get lost!

As an adult I've watched myself start tearing down fences; loosening the planks, stretching the wires, until I feel like I'm able to freely live up to my potential. When doubt creeps in, the fence builds a little- when confidence reigns, I'm once again running through open fields. In the open fields we stretch and imagine and succeed, the way we're meant to.  In the openness we create and inspire and dream.

But the fence- it truly is a beautiful symbol.  Created to keep us safe, it's only when we push past it that we can really find our creativity. I sometimes squeeze through and see what's out there, but keep my feet grounded on the other side. Other times I break through without abandon and live the adventure. It's during these times I see my art grow and change and develop. And that makes me?

Happy.

Wellie Love

who doesn't love a good pair of wellies, like the original hunter wellies above?
the slightest idea of a trusty, beloved pair of wellies brings forth smiles of coziness, falling leaves, hot cocoa, vintage dresses, scarves, and street cafes.

wellies make everything better...

jared (our resident see oh oh) spotted these cuties by the mobile telecommunications company orange uk and renewable energy resource community GotWind. not only are they fashionable, they are also green. theses wellies charge your mobile phone while you walk in them!
